Welcome to St Mary's! The International Department looks after incoming international students and also runs exciting outgoing study abroad programmes for all St Mary's students.
New international students
Whether you're here for just the semester or for your whole degree, we run an International Orientation programme to introduce you to St Mary's and life in the UK.
The programme starts with our free airport pick-up service from Heathrow on Tuesday, 3rd September. To reserve your place, please complete the aiport pick-up booking form as soon as possible.
From the 4th-6th September you'll attend presentations and tours to help you learn more about academic and support services at St Mary's, understand your visa requirements, and get to know the local area. The week finishes on Saturday, 7th September with a day out in London.
As an international student, you have access to the University's wide range of services. There are also opportunities just for international students, like the St Mary's Social Programme or our English language support classes. You'll learn about all of them during your induction, but if you have any questions, please get in touch with us.
The International Department is based at 60 Waldegrave Road. If you can't stop by in person, you can reach us at 020 8240 4192 or email@example.com.
Study abroad opportunities
All St Mary's students are able to study abroad for a semester or a summer as part of their degree. There are many reasons to study abroad, but some of the highlights are:
- Students with international experience tend to be more employable and earn more over the course of their careers
- It's an amazing, surprisingly affordable way to meet people from all over the world
- You get a unique insight into your degree subject by considering it from a new perspective
There are lots of different options available and the International Department is here to guide you through them.
There will be lots of informational events throughout the semester you can attend to find out more. We'll publicise them across campus, but to make sure you don't miss out, speak to us in the Welcome Village on the 8th-9th September or at Freshers' Fair on the 12th September.
You can also reach us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 020 8240 4049.
