Congratulations on securing your place on the MSc Nutrition and Genetics at St Mary’s University, Twickenham.
As you probably already know, this is the first and only Higher Education degree dedicated to Nutrition and Genetics in Europe, so I hope you are excited about this new step in your academic life.
Overview of the MSc Nutrition and Genetics
This full-time MSc programme comprises seven modules, three in the first semester and four in the second semester. The curriculum has been developed in a way that most theoretical aspects will be covered in semester one and all lab-based activities will be covered in semester two.
Your first day at St Mary’s University
The first teaching day is Tuesday 17th September 2019 at 9am in room G1 (through the University Reception doors and then right). You do not need to prepare anything for your first day and lecture notes will be emailed in advance to your personal email accounts that you used in your correspondence with St Mary’s.
Full details of the programme including information on how to access electronic texts and journals through the University Library, assignments, submission dates for all modules etc will be available through the virtual learning environment (VLE), Moodle.
To access the VLE website you need to fully register as a year one postgraduate student. Registration for the MSc Nutrition and Genetics will take place throughout the day on 17th September at Registry.
Familiarity with the campus
On the first day of the course, we will offer a tour of our campus. You can also find a map of the campus and the local area online. There is restricted parking close to the campus so if you wish to drive and park on the residential roads you should expect a 10 minute walk.
