The Teaching and Learning Strategy sets out how we will enable our students to develop into highly skilled and independent problem solvers, as well as socially engaged and civically responsible individuals.

The Teaching and Learning Strategy is designed to achieve the aims of St Mary’s Vision 2030 and especially the objectives within Pillars 1 and 5 of the vision:

Pillar 1: Achieving student success. With a rich history in education, St Mary’s is committed to high quality delivery in education, research and the wider student experience. We will continue to provide an outstanding academic, sporting and social experience, to ensure our students flourish while they are with us, and beyond.
Pillar 5: Enhancing our sense of place. We treasure our historic campus and will continue to develop it as a safe space and to guard it for future generations. We will open up our work to the public and strive to have a positive impact in our local community. We will play a dynamic role in the educational, cultural, sporting and economic life of Southwest London.

The Teaching and Learning Strategy underpins the Academic Strategy 2025-30, and addresses the strategic priorities to:

Deliver and leverage innovative, community-engaged, and technologically enhanced approaches to teaching and learning.
Deliver an inclusive, supportive, and inspiring student experience, that enables individual and collective development and success.

This will enable our students to thrive and make a positive impact on society.
