A welcome from Jane Chambers, Head of School

At St Mary’s, we welcome everyone with a passion for shaping the future through education. Rated Outstanding by Ofsted, our School of Education offers professionally accredited undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in education and initial teacher training (ITT).

We provide a wide range of teacher training routes, including primary and secondary pathways, alongside professional development opportunities for teachers at every stage of their career. Our strong partnerships with over 500 schools and educational organisations ensure our students gain invaluable, real-world experience.

Our staff are expert educators, combining cutting-edge research with professional practice. Their specialist interests—ranging from Catholic education and social justice to teacher wellbeing and pedagogy—enrich both teaching and learning. Students develop vocational and transferable skills through academic study, complemented by work-based learning that enhances employability.

We offer a vibrant portfolio of undergraduate, foundation, and postgraduate programmes, alongside opportunities for continuing professional development. Further details are available below.

There are several upcoming events at St Mary's and we look forward to welcoming you to our community. You can also follow us on X: @TeachStMarys.
