The project

The AARC is a community of researchers, practitioners, coaches, parents/guardians and athletes united by a common goal: better support for young athletes.

The Adolescent Athlete Research Community brings together researchers, practitioners, coaches, parents/guardians, and athletes who share a common goal: to provide better, holistic support for adolescent athletes (those aged 10-19yrs)

Our mission is to ensure young athletes thrive physically, mentally, and emotionally, both in and beyond sport.

Our three core areas

Research and insights

  • Leading and coordinating cutting-edge research into adolescent sport.
  • Identifying emerging issues, trends, and challenges impacting young athletes.

Leadership and education

  • Sharing evidence-based best practices.
  • Providing accessible toolkits, guidance, and resources for those working in youth sport.

Building a movement

  • Connecting everyone involved in adolescent sport through events, activities, and community engagement.
  • Raising awareness of the need for more comprehensive, holistic support for young athletes.
