The Chaplaincy invites you to celebrate Patronal Feast Day – The Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
As Catholic, we recognise the unique role of Jesus, as both the Son of God and Son of Man, truly human and divine. Like us, he was also part of a human family, with a mother and a father. We therefore give his mother due honour, as we would anyone else’s mother, so the Feast of the Immaculate Conception is a celebration of the role given to Jesus’s mother, Virgin Mary.
The Feast of the Immaculate Conception recognises the unique circumstances surrounding the Virgin Mary’s birth. She was without sin, being chosen by God to be the Mother of Jesus, ready for that extraordinary role, one that she would accept when the Angel Gabriel would announce the conception of the Christ child.
Celebrations include:
12pm-2pm Hot chocolate and cookies giveaway in the Piazza.
5.30pm Mass in the Chapel
Followed by drinks and dinner.
If you would like to come to the dinner in the Waldegrave Drawing Room, please book a place through the Chaplaincy with any dietary requirements at chaplaincy@stmarys.ac.uk
