We’re excited to announce our third ‘Get Ahead’ masterclass day at St Mary’s University, Twickenham (SMU).
This event is perfect for students applying to university for either September 2024 or 2025 entry. Year 12s, 13s, level 3 students, and mature learners are all welcome to attend. The day will cover something for everyone, with a range of sessions to help students make an informed and guided decision about their next steps – whether they are planning on applying to SMU, another institution, or are still deciding whether university is the destination for them.
Schedule
- 09:45am: Arrival and Registration
- 10:00am: Welcome to St Mary’s
- 10:15am: Session One: ‘Factors to consider when researching and selecting your university choices’.
- 11:00am: Break
- 11:10am: Session Two
- Option A: ‘How to write a great personal statement’ (for students applying to university for a September 2024 start).
- Option B: ‘Why University? A student life session with our Student Ambassadors’ (for students considering applying to university for a September 2025 start).
- 12:00pm: Lunch
- 12:30pm: Session Three: Interactive campus tour: discover the different university services.
- 1:30pm: Session Four: ‘Everything you need to know about Student Finance’, including a budgeting activity.
- 2:30pm: Any final questions and depart.
Registration information
Students are welcome to register independently to attend this day.
If teachers or advisers wish to book a larger cohort, we recommend that learners still register independently so that they receive relevant information prior to the event and to help with attendance marking on the day.
