One child in every 29 is bereaved of a parent by the age of 16 (Child Bereavement UK, 2019), so why do so few schools in England have a bereavement policy?
With the inclusion of Grief Education in the recently published RSHE statutory guidance for primary and secondary schools, it is time to ensure that every school has a bereavement policy alongside curriculum planning.
The webinar will:
- provide a policy update on bereavement in education
- outline important principles for bereavement policy design
- share the case study of a school developing an effective bereavement policy
- signpost useful organisations and resources for schools.
