The annual event has grown from strength to strength for the past 10 years. Organised by the St Mary’s Careers Service, it offers students on undergraduate or postgraduate teacher training courses at the University College with the opportunity to seek careers advice and meet with potential employers.
This year, more than 400 students attended the event and 34 organisations exhibited, including local education authorities, teaching unions and local Diocese.
Head of St Mary’s Careers Magdalen Attwater said, “The teaching fair is when it all comes together for many of our students, when they get to meet a prospective employer, or see a future career open up. As ever, I’d like to thank all our staff, students and exhibitors for making it such a success.”
Organisers received many positive comments, one education student said, “There was lots of information about how to secure a teaching post.”
