Drama students at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham are set to hold a theatrical festival at its Strawberry Hill campus this November.
Deemed as St Mary’s answer to Edinburgh Festival, The T Junction Festival will run from Monday 18th to Saturday 23rd November and showcases a variety of written and devised works from undergraduate Drama students who have set up their own theatre companies.
Devised over the summer, students will perform 12 different plays over the course of four shows. The project demonstrates the creative potential within the student groups, many of who go on to create new and exciting work together after they graduate.
Drama Programme Director Patsy Gilbert said, “We’re thinking of this as our own mini Edinburgh Festival and we are excited to share our new work with a range of different audiences. This promises to be a highlight of our year and we hope this will become an annual festival of theatrical delight!”
The festival is open to members of the public and all shows will be performed in the Drama St Mary’s Theatre, Strawberry Hill. Tickets are £5 each, or passes are £10 and allows audiences into all shows, although seats must be reserved.
