On Wednesday 6th March, Film Programmer Hussain Currimbhoy will be hosting a guest lecture on contemporary documentary film and his work for the Sheffield Documentary Festival (SDF), at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham. Media Arts students are encouraged to attend but the lecture is open to anyone who is interested.
During his university career, Hussain directed seven short films. Since 2003, he has worked in programming for the Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide Film Festivals and founded his own short film festival in Australia. His move to the UK in 2007 saw him become Programmer for the SDF.
The SDF, which runs from the 12th - 16th June, is a celebration of the art and business of documentary making. It offers pitching opportunities, controversial discussion panels and in-depth filmmaking master classes along with screenings of a whole spectrum of documentary films from across the globe.
The lecture is taking place from 1pm to 3pm in the N Block Lecture Theatre at St Mary’s Strawberry Hill Campus.
