A Physical Education student at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham has been awarded Female Player of the Year by Middlesex County Cricket Club.
Monday 30th September saw Middlesex County Cricket Club host its annual End of the Season Players’ Awards Dinner in the Lord’s Cricket Ground, where St Mary’s student Catherine Dalton won her award. The evening was attended by England cricket players Steve Finn, Eoin Morgan and the entire Middlesex Club.
Catherine said, “I’m still in shock that I won this award. I love playing for Middlesex and it is such an honour to be viewed as a key player and I want to do even better next year!”
The award marks Catherine’s extensive progress over the last year and the Club’s recognition of her potential to reach international level. She has already jumped into the history books, playing in the men’s Division One cricket for Halstead CC earlier this year, and now is about to travel to Bangalore, India as part of her ongoing development.
