This Wednesday 13th March, St Mary’s University College, Twickenham, is hosting a research seminar that explores the impact of assessment and feedback on the student learning experience.
Guest lecturer Dr Helen Barefoot (University of Hertfordshire) will deliver the seminar, which aims to examine some of her work. This includes examples from the JISC-funded ‘Effecting Sustainable Assessment Practice and Experience’ (ESCAPE) project which, through change management activities, supported transformative change at module and School level.
Dr Barefoot will also discuss the re-engineering of assessment tasks, providing examples of specific changes and the benefit including the use of relevant learning technologies such as Wikipedia, blogs and electronic voting systems, which enabled effective- yet efficient assessments.
The seminar is open to students, staff and the public and will take place on Wednesday 13th March from 2pm to 3pm in room C2 at St Mary’s Strawberry Hill campus. For more information please contact Dr Victoria Armstrong on victoria.armstrong@stmarys.ac.uk
