Spring Performances from Drama St Mary’s

Two drama productions have been announced this April at St Mary's University College, Twickenham

Next week, Drama students at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham, are set to perform their new production Yerma, based on the play of the same name by Spanish poet Federico García Lorca. Performed by second year Theatre Arts students, the beautiful and savage production expresses the heart-breaking story of Yerma and her yearnings for motherhood. Her anguish at childlessness reaches breaking point, resulting in a desperate act that sets her free, but seals her unhappy fate. Yerma will run from Tuesday 9th to Thursday 11th April from 7.30pm in the Drama St Mary’s Theatre. Drama St Mary’s is also pleased to host the “Razor sharp theatre group Les Enfants Terribles” (The Telegraph) with its award winning production The Trench on Monday 15th April at the Strawberry Hill campus. Inspired by a true story about a miner who became trapped in a tunnel during World War One, this original, innovative and exciting play blends physical storytelling, verse, puppetry and live music inviting the audience into a weird and wonderful world of imagination. Tickets for both productions cost £5. For more information and to book tickets, please visit the Drama St Mary’s website.
