A former student at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham, has become the Bobsleigh Skeleton World Champion after competing in St Moritz, Switzerland last week. Shelley Rudman, who graduated from St Mary’s in 2003, won the World Championships ahead of the USA’s Noelle Pikus-Pace and Canada’s Sarah Reid. In 2006, Shelley took Silver at the Winter Olympics, the first Briton ever to do so. She is now preparing for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.
