St Mary's University College alumnus Moe Sbihi has helped the Men’s Eight Great British Rowing team become the best in the world after competing in the World Rowing Championships in Chungju, South Korea this weekend.
Moe, who studied Sport Science with Health, Nutrition and Exercise as part of a sports scholarship at St Mary’s, was also part of the GB team that won Bronze at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Along with fellow team mates, he competed in the Men’s Eight category this Sunday finishing in a time of 5.30.35 ahead of the United States and Olympic champions Germany.
St Mary’s Director for Sport Andrew Reid-Smith said, “To add to Moe’s Olympic Bronze, he is now a member of the first British men’s eight to become world champions. All at St Mary’s are very proud of Moe and what he’s achieved, he’s an outstanding individual and we wish him continued success as he builds towards Rio 2016.”
