St Mary’s University College, Twickenham recently held a staff awards ceremony to recognise staff achievements and celebrate the successes of those who have completed training courses offered as part of its staff development and continuing professional development programme.
St Mary’s Interim Principal Dr Arthur Naylor presented almost 70 staff from different departments with awards for their participation in a variety of training courses. This included the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Certification in First Line Management, City and Guilds Adult Literacy, Customer Service NVQ and Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) Award in Food Safety in Catering.
Dr Naylor said, “People are our most valuable resource and our success relies on our ability to continuously develop and improve. Our vision, mission and values underpin our commitment to developing staff and contributing to the wider community and I am delighted to offer my congratulations to those staff who have received an award today.”
St Mary’s Staff Development Manager Paula Keane added, “The Award Ceremony was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements of staff and work experience students throughout this academic year. Our staff form the heart of the University College and our sense of community was evident by the number that attended to support their colleagues.
“Following the ceremony in recognition of their achievements, those present commented how valued they feel as a St Mary’s employee and others have been inspired to continue their pathways of lifelong learning through the available Staff Development opportunities.”
