More than 40 local school teachers recently attended a networking and subject update event at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham.
Organised by St Mary’s School of Education, Theology and Leadership, the event was organised for Primary PE coordinators from schools in the borough as a way to hear about the latest curriculum updates and network with peers from other institutions.
During the evening, PE tutors from the School of Education, Theology and Leadership discussed a range of topics including the implications of the current national curriculum for physical education and possible changes for future, guidance on the Sports Premium initiative and funding, and feedback and implications for self-review and school progress during Ofsted inspections.
As a leader in the field of teacher training, St Mary’s is committed to the professional development of teachers and educational leaders, hosting regular professional development events such as this.
As a result of this successful evening, St Mary’s is holding a workshop on 7th October. For more information about this and any forthcoming Continuing Professional Development opportunities, please visit the website or contact Siobhan Cockrill on siobhan.cockrill@stmarys.ac.uk.
