A student from St Mary’s University College, Twickenham recently won a competition with Lucozade Sport to train with double Olympic Gold medallist Mo Farah.
Jane Razavet, a triathlete and Sports Science student at St Mary’s, entered the draw with the hope, if she won, of using the experience to build upon her degree and sporting life. After being given the chance to visit Mo Farah’s training camp at the Nike headquarters in Portland, Oregon she was able to make a dream come true.
During the training experience Jane gained a valuable insight into Mo’s work ethic, track and strength and conditioning regime. As a Sports Science student, she was also able to find out more about Mo’s psychological strategies and how he copes with injury.
On her return Jane commented, “The trip was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that I will never forget.”
Jane’s lifelong passion for sport has seen her compete in a range of iconic sporting events over the years including Ironman 70.3 Pays d’Aix, the Abu Dhabi International Triathlon and the legendary Tour de France climb, Mont Ventoux. Her experience with Mo Farah has provided invaluable experience for her studies and will no doubt assist in her competitions later this year.
