This Friday 25th January, St Mary’s University College, Twickenham, is holding its annual Teaching Fair at its Strawberry Hill campus.
Organised for St Mary’s students on teacher training courses, more than 30 organisations from London borough education departments, faith schools and teaching unions, will be exhibiting on the day from 12.30-3pm.
The event is sponsored by the National Association of Schoolmasters Union of Women Teachers (NASUWT) in conjunction with the St Mary’s Career Service. It offers students a chance to find out how they can secure their Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) placement after graduating, and more about what different employers in the teaching sector have to offer.
Head of the St Mary’s Career Service Magdalen Attwater commented, “We are really excited about this years’ fair as it gives students the opportunity to meet and talk directly to potential employers, as well as the chance to network with established professional alumni of the College in the new ‘Teaching Zone’.”
The Teaching Fair is open to current St Mary’s students and recent graduates. A programme, list of exhibitors, stand plan and FAQs are available on the SIMMSpace student portal. St Mary’s current students or recent graduates, requiring help with NQT applications or finding work experience should contact the St Mary’s Career Service on careers@stmarys.ac.uk
