A former trainee teacher from St Mary’s University College, Twickenham, has been given an ‘Inspirational Educator’ award by The Company of Educators.
Muriel Huet completed both her PGCE in Secondary Modern Languages and her MA in Leading Innovation and Change at St Mary’s and now teaches at one of the University College’s outstanding partnership schools, Lampton Secondary School in Hounslow. Muriel was nominated for the prestigious award by her lecturer, St Mary’s Programme Director Anna Lise Gordon.
Anna Lise commented, “Muriel is an outstanding teacher, who has introduced creative approaches to teaching, including the use of films and music to inspire pupils in their language learning and we are delighted that she has won this award.”
The Company of Educators’ Charitable Trust runs this annual awards scheme, which recognises and appreciates the work of individuals from across the educational spectrum. Muriel will receive her award at a celebration dinner on Friday 1st March, where she will be joined by St Mary’s Head of the School of Education Maureen Glackin.
Muriel commented, “It is a great honour to receive this award and a great pleasure to have been nominated by one of the people who inspired me in my teaching career, Anne Lise Gordon.”
