The School of Education, Theology and Leadership at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham recently hosted a networking event for local primary and secondary modern language teachers.
Around 60 modern language teachers came together during the evening, which took place at St Mary’s Strawberry Hill campus, to share ideas and learn from one another. With quizzes, short five-minute presentations and networking opportunities, the fast-paced event meant that attendees went away with a plethora of information and useful ideas that can be applied to their teaching.
The event was organised by St Mary’s lecturers Anna Lise Gordon, Penny Madoc-Jones and Glennis Pye. Anna Lise said, “This was an excellent opportunity to celebrate partnerships with local schools and to provide a professional network for primary and secondary modern language teachers.”
The evening, which was the first of its kind to run at the University College, was such a success that a second event is now being planned for early next year. St Mary’s offers a number of teacher training courses at an undergraduate and postgraduate level, for more information please visit the website (link).
