St Mary’s University College, Twickenham recently hosted a research skills seminar in conjunction with the Consortium for Research Excellence Support and Training (CREST).
The seminar was attended by more than 40 students and staff from St Mary’s and other Higher Education Institutions. There were presentations from Taylor Francis (Routledge), Critical Publishing and CREST, exploring topics such as new media and academic publishing, preparing a book proposal and publishing in academic journals.
There was also a presentation from St Mary’s Research Professor in Applied Science Prof John Nicholson and Professor of New Testament and Early Christianity Prof Chris Keith, who spoke about their experiences of publishing.
CREST is a research network funded by HEFCE and provided by Guild HE. It is designed to pool research expertise and encourage collaboration on research, and staff and student development.
