Yesterday (Monday 21st October 2013) St Mary’s University College, Twickenham re-launched its external website, with a brand new design, navigation and features.
The website (www.stmarys.ac.uk) was designed and project managed in-house by Website Editor Claire Lovey and with more than 30,000 files to organise, edit, design, proofread and optimise, it took the team just four months to create.
Improved navigation was a key objective for the new website and visitors will notice a single, clearly labelled drop-down navigation menu, making sections that were difficult to find easily accessible from any page on the site.
Tailor-made information such as key information, facts, downloads, links, related news and contact information now appear in an easy to use column in each section, ensuring information is easily accessible to users.
Following the launch of the University College’s Media Centre earlier this year, the site also incorporates a live feed of all the latest news and events, whilst users will also be able to take advantage of other interactive features such as videos, virtual tours and social media feeds.
Claire Lovey said, “The website’s new design and layout brings the St Mary’s website up to date. The use of larger images throughout the site showcases the St Mary’s campus and the work of the University College Photographer Christine Jarvis.
“As a key marketing tool, it’s vital that the website is engaging and easy to navigate. By including additional features such as a new call to action area and a related news feed to each section, we can really highlight the successes around campus and make it easy for prospective students, staff and members of the public to find out more about the University College.”
Dr Claire Taylor, Vice-Principal for the University College, added, “The launch of the new website is an exciting development for St Mary’s. It is a key platform through which we communicate everything the University College has to offer to current and prospective students, to our local area and also to a wide national and international academic audience and I am confident that the site will be a key factor in helping more people connect with the St Mary’s community.”
