St Mary’s Careers Service Attains Matrix Standard Success

The Careers Service at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham has been re-accredited with the Matrix Standard, the industry quality mark for information advice and guidance services. The Careers Service at St Mary’s is part of The Careers Group, University of London, which delivers employability services to more than 150 Higher Education Institutions throughout the UK. At the end of 2013, the Group was re-accredited with the Matrix Standard, the industry benchmark for organisations that provide advice and support services to individuals in their pursuit of careers, learning, work and life goals, ensuring that service excellence is maintained and improved. The vigorous assessment process demonstrated that The Careers Group has been continually improving the provision of careers education, information, advice and guidance to students, graduates and jobseekers since it was last assessed in 2010. Head of St Mary’s Careers Service Magdalen Attwater commented, “I am delighted that we have once again proven our ability to continuously improve the service that we offer to students and graduates. In the current climate it is vital that we deliver excellent careers guidance and employability support and the Matrix reaccreditation is one of a number of ways in which we are able to evidence that.” St Mary’s Careers Service offers comprehensive careers information and advice to current students and recent graduates including CV and application advice, work experience placements, internships and further study.
