Last weekend (Friday 7th and Saturday 8th March), students from St Mary’s University, Twickenham celebrated the successful completion of their studies at the 2014 Winter Graduation Ceremonies.
Seven ceremonies were held over the course of the two days in University Chapel, where students were presented with a range of foundation and postgraduate awards, including three PhDs. Students along with their family and friends were then invited to enjoy a celebratory meal in St Mary’s historic Waldegrave Drawing Room.
St Mary’s Winter Graduation is the culmination of several years’ hard work for students, many of who studied part-time alongside other commitments. The day gives them the opportunity to celebrate their achievements, as well as thanking friends and family for their support.
St Mary’s Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr Claire Taylor said, “The Winter Graduation ceremonies are truly a day for our students and their families to remember. St Mary’s offers students a strong and supportive community in which to learn, and graduates will continue to be part of this community as alumni and we look forward to keeping in touch with them as they start the next phase in their lives.”
