St Mary’s to Host Guest Lecture on Creativity

The School of Arts and Humanities at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham is hosting a guest lecture on creativity with Dr Christine Battersby (University of Warwick) as part of a series of public lectures from the Royal Institute of Philosophy (RIP). Entitled ‘Cultures of Creativity: Shifting the Frame’, Dr Battersby will discuss the different modules for understanding creativity and the historical background in the ways to which we define creativity today. Dr Battersby is the Reader Emerita in the Department of Philosophy, and Associate Fellow of the Centre for Research in Philosophy, Literature and the Arts at the University of Warwick. Using literature and the visual arts to aid her research, Dr Battersby has written a number of books, including Gender and Genius: Towards a Feminist Aesthetics. The free public lecture takes place on Wednesday 19th February in the Senior Common Room at St Mary’s Strawberry Hill Campus from 5.15-6.45pm, followed by a drinks reception.
