Athletes from the Endurance Performance and Coaching Centre saw another successful weekend, racing in the Reading Half Marathon and the Eastleigh 10k

Athletes from the Endurance Performance and Coaching Centre (EPACC) saw another successful weekend as they competed in the Reading Half Marathon and the Eastleigh 10k. In the Reading Half Marathon, Lily Partridge won the women’s race with a personal best (PB) of 01:10:32, whilst Georgie Bruinvels finished in sixth. In the men’s race, Paul Pollock came second and former student Ben Lindsay finished fifth, recording a PB of 01:05:04. Elsewhere, at the Eastleigh 10k, current students Karl Billington finished second and Olllie Lockley came third in a very close race, with only six seconds separating the top three. In the women’s race, EPACC also saw success as Annabelle Grady finished in third place. In the Lisbon Half Marathon, Olympians David Weir, who trains at the University, and St Mary’s Alumnus Mo Farah both won their races, with Mo setting a new European record of 59:32. EPACC Performance Coach Craig Winrow said, “These results show the versatility of our athletes not only do we compete well on the track and cross country but also on the road circuit.” These results come as 37 EPACC athletes prepare to go to Font-Romeu in the French Alps for St Mary’s annual high altitude training camp.
