The Careers Service at St Mary’s University, Twickenham hosted its annual Drama Careers event in November.
The event welcomed four experts to speak to 25 students from across the Drama St Mary’s Programmes. Guests included Imogen Bond from the Orange Tree Theatre, Siobhan Sharp of Lyric Hammersmith, Alex Guiney from Theatre Delicatessen, and Catherine Steele from P-Zazz.
The speakers discussed the different routes into a career in drama open to the students and the roles that were available. Head of Recruitment from St Mary’s Claire Chalmers spoke to the students about their post-graduate opportunities, before they took part in a networking session.
One Drama St Mary’s students said of the event, “I learnt about how helpful the Careers Service is for students, the presenters were friendly and answered questions giving good real life examples. This was really useful for anyone that wants to be involved in the drama industry.”
