The BSc Geography Programme at St Mary’s University, Twickenham has appointed renowned academic Dr Jacqueline Tivers as Visiting Senior Fellow.
Dr Tivers has a reputation founded on her substantial contribution to the development of feminist geography, which revolutionized the subject. Subsequently she became involved in other areas of Geography including tourism, sport, media and performance studies, and most recently to the emerging geography of religion.
Having retired from full time teaching in 2010, Dr Tivers was recently awarded her Masters of Theology from St John’s College Nottingham. Her teaching career saw Dr Tivers work at a host of leading universities, including University of Surrey and more recently Anglia Ruskin and Nottingham Trent Universities.
Programme Director for Geography Dr Stuart Oliver commented, “We’re delighted that such a well-known and well-respected Geographer as Dr Tivers has agreed to be involved with Geography at St Mary’s University. She has a wealth of experience to share with us and we’re very much looking forward to working with her.”
