The Careers Service at St Mary’s University, Twickenham recently hosted career events for students from the School of Management and Social Sciences (MSS) and the School of Sport, Health and Applied Sciences (SHAS).
The MSS Careers Fair saw the University welcome 22 exhibitors from a range of industries and companies, including the European Commission, HM Prison Services, Hounslow Council and Legoland. More than 200 students attended the event where they were able to meet exhibitors and learn about how to pursue a career with them or in their industry and the opportunities open to St Mary’s graduates.
St Mary’s Careers Consultant Anna Favalessa said, “It was great to see so many talented, proactive St Mary’s students making the most of our largest MSS Careers Fair to date. This is part of our ongoing mission to support our students in achieving and maintaining career success.”
The SHAS Careers Event welcomed over 40 students to hear from a range of speakers about their career paths and opportunities with their organisations. The guest speakers at the event included Virgin Active, Anytime Fitness, Fulham FC, Nuffield Health, Wimbledon Clinics, the Civil Nuclear Constabulary and Harlequin Football Club ltd. Many students also took the opportunity to network with the speakers and develop industry links.
One of the students who attended the event said, “There was a good variety of speakers who were related to the subjects we study. I found out about different ways to achieve my goals and how to get myself known to employers.”
The Careers Service at St Mary’s provides a range of services to students and staff including impartial and confidential information and advice about anything careers related.
