Lecturer in Physical and Sport Education (PSE) at St Mary’s University, Twickenham Amy Price passed her UEFA A Licence at the end of June 30th.
The achievement makes Amy one of just 35 female coaches in England with this award. Amy studied at The FA's St Georges Park over 18 months, whilst supplementing her studies with coaching roles at a range of football clubs including Hampton and Richmond Borough FC, NPL FC, St Mary's University, Hampshire Girl's Centre of Excellence and Raynes Park Vale FC.
Amy said of the qualification, “The learning experiences I have taken from the past 18 months has been unquantifiable. I have purposefully put myself in challenging coaching environments so that I can improve every aspect of my practice.
“I have certainly developed my knowledge of the game, but most importantly I have improved my ability to influence others in a positive way. In particular, I have enjoyed working in the men's game, and hopefully my progress through this award inspires our students to do something that they never thought were possible."
Amy will use her experiences from the UEFA A Licence to develop provision on the new Football Education and Development FdA in collaboration with Chelsea FC Foundation, starting in September 2016.
