Today, Friday 11th March 2016, it has been announced that St Mary’s University, Twickenham has been shortlisted in five categories in the WhatUni Student Choice Awards 2016.
Out of the ten possible category nominations St Mary’s has been shortlisted for: ‘Job Prospects’, ‘Accommodation’, ‘Course and Lecturers’, ‘International’ and ‘Overall.’
WhatUni, part of the Hotcourses group, visited campuses across the United Kingdom collecting more than 25,000 votes from current students, and of the 125 universities that met the minimum “score” to be considered in the Student Choice Awards, St Mary’s is one of the 39 institutions shortlisted.
Shortlisted nominations were based on averages taken from the votes that were cast, with ‘International’ nominations identified following reviews from existing International students, and the ‘Overall’ nomination, putting the University in with a chance to win the ‘University of the Year’ award.
Prof Anne Moran, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Global Engagement at St Mary’s said: “I am thrilled that the University has been nominated in so many categories. We are constantly striving to improve student services and facilities across the University, and this is a clear indication that our dedication to student satisfaction is being recognised within the wider HE landscape.”
The awards are now in their third year, and focus on offering an unbiased view of university life from the students’ point of view.
Winners of the WhatUni Student Choice Awards 2016 will be announced at the central London awards ceremony on Thursday 14th April.
