The Students’ Union at St Mary’s University, Twickenham will host runner Ben Smith as part of his 401 Challenge on the 22nd April.
The 401 Challenge began in September 2015 and will see Ben run a record breaking 401 consecutive marathons in 309 different locations across the UK. The challenge aims to raise £250,000 for charities that work to combat bullying in schools and society.
Ben, who has now run over 200 marathons, encourages local runners to come and take part and run a mile with him. Ben will be running three loops starting at St Mary’s and St Peter’s Primary School, Teddington, St Mary’s University Teddington Lock Campus, and St Mary’s Strawberry Hill Campus. For full details of the route, please click here or visit the 401 Challenge website.
There will be a strong St Mary’s representation at the event with the Students’ Union arranging for teams of students to run a mile alongside Ben. As part of the event, St Mary’s Sport Rehabilitation students will also be offering sports massage to runners to help raise funds for Ben’s charities.
