St Mary’s University, Twickenham, has entered into a formal partnership with EMD École de Management in Marseille.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) setting out areas of co-operation was signed by St Mary’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Francis Campbell and President Bernard Vasdeboncoeur during St Mary’s graduation ceremonies hosted at Westminster Cathedral.
As part of the new agreement, the two institutions are set to collaborate on the delivery of a new Master of Science (MSc) programme in International Business Management. This part-franchise programme will be awarded by St Mary’s and delivered and assessed collaboratively by St Mary’s and EMD, Marseille.
Other areas for potential co-operation include exchanges of both staff and students; joint courses and summer schools; and joint working across relevant academic fields including Business, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Tourism and Law.
The MoU references the institutions’ common objectives to promote international cooperation in higher education, research and cultural exchange, in keeping with their Catholic, humanist tradition and values of hospitality and dialogue.
Speaking about the new agreement, Vice Chancellor of St Mary’s University, Francis Campbell, said: “At St Mary’s we believe that positive engagement with higher education institutions across the world will ensure that we continue to develop our international outlook and remain globally competitive for the benefit of our students.
“We are delighted to be working with EMD, an institution which shares our values, and we hope that this new partnership will serve to enrich the experience of own students and those abroad.”
EMD École de Management President, Bernard Vasdeboncoeur, said, “We are pleased to partner with St Mary’s on this exciting initiative. As an institution based in London that fosters entrepreneurship amongst students, and focuses on delivering strong graduate outcomes, St Mary’s is the ideal collaborator and we look forward to seeing the success of this project.
