St Mary's student James Bertrand is currently raising money to fund a life-changing operation.
James - together with his identical twin brother Tom - was born with Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome. This caused James to lose his left leg at 18 months, as well as leaving his right leg severely damaged.
James has identified a leg implant procedure called Osseointegration that could transform his quality of life by giving him permanent leg implants. The procedure is only available privately in Australia and as such James is hoping to raise the £138,000 required through crowdfunding.
