St Mary’s University, Twickenham is launching its latest Short Course, with a new course for the Level 3 Certificate in Health Coaching (RSPH) qualification.

The Health Coaching course will run from Saturday 20th April to Saturday 23rd November 2024, and will provide students with the essential underpinning knowledge, understanding, and skills needed to successfully practise as a Health Coach.

The course is part-time and will run once a week, via a combination of online live sessions, pre-recorded lectures, and two on-campus dates.

Delivered over six modules, students will acquire the skills to deliver personalised care as part of a health coaching programme, in order to promote the health and wellbeing of individuals, groups and communities. This includes behaviour change models and techniques.

The course tutor is, Anastasija Den Blanken, an experienced, practising Health Coach. Anastasija is also a member of the UK and International Health Coaching Association (UKIHCA).

Health Coaching can be a stand-alone career but also sits perfectly alongside professions such as personal training. The aim of the course is to give you the training to offer a fully comprehensive and more in-depth support to your clients.

A Health Coach can make a real difference by supporting and guiding their clients, empowering them to make a particular health or behaviour change to achieve a wellness goal, and by keeping clients motivated and accountable.

On completion of the course, participants will be able to practise as a Health Coach and will be eligible to join the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH). They will also be able to apply to become an affiliate member of the UKIHCA.

The full cost of the Health Coaching course is £950. St Mary’s staff and students can receive a 10% discount.
