St Mary’s University is proud to be hosting a British Milers Club (BMC) Grand Prix on the Sir Mo Farah Athletics Track on Sunday 9 August, with races starting from 4.30pm.

A BMC Grand Prix is the clubs top level athletics meet and forms part of the World Continental Tour. The event is free and open to the public who would like to spectate. There will be food trucks and refreshments available for purchase at campus outlets.

With the meet taking place between major international athletics events, it promises to be a high-level competition with athletes lining up from UK, Ireland, France, Spain, Finland, New Zealand, Tunisia, Iceland, Australia, Qatar, Belgium, Netherlands, Canada and many more.

The meet will see men’s and women’s races at 800m, 1500m, 3000m and 2000m Steeplechase at a range of junior age groups alongside the senior races.

Speaking of the meeting, St Mary's Endurance Performance Centre Coordinator and Performance Coach Craig Winrow said, “Building on the success of last year’s BMC Record Breaker event, which celebrated St Mary’s175th Anniversary, we’re delighted to step up to hosting a Grand Prix at St Mary’s. The level of athletes registering has been fantastic and we’re looking forward to some hotly contested races.”
