St Mary’s Celebrates Mater Ecclesiae College Graduation ceremony

St Mary’s University, London celebrated the Mater Ecclesiae College’s Graduation ceremony on Tuesday 8 September in the University Chapel, which coincided with the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The Rector of the College, Mgr Paul McPartlan, welcomed the new Chancellor of Mater Ecclesiae, Archbishop Richard Moth, who presented degrees to the graduates. The new Vice-Chancellor of St Mary's, Dr Øystein Lund, was also in attendance to welcome everyone.

For the first time the Graduation ceremony included Evening Prayer to mark the feast and give thanks to God. The University celebrated its graduates’ achievements and expressed gratitude to everyone who helped them reach this milestone, including their dedicated teachers, the families, and friends who supported them with their love and prayers.

The celebration concluded with a buffet reception in the Waldegrave Suite, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all and brought the joyful occasion to a happy close.

Speaking on the day Mgr McPartlan said, “Holding Graduation in the Chapel is a sign of the close relationship between the College and the University, which we're looking forward to developing even further in the future.”
