Financial Requirements for Your Visa

If you are required to show financial evidence as part of your student visa application, it is essential that you prepare this in advance.

Please if you are required to submit financial evidence with your visa application

What you should do:

  • You should start maintaining your funds by 1 August at the latest
  • The required funds must typically be held in your account for a minimum 28 consecutive days before you submit your visa application
  • This ensures you will be ready to demonstrate your finances as soon as your CAS is issued (by 4 September)

Funds required:

You will need to show sufficient funds to cover:

  • Outstanding tuition fees (this is your tuition fee £48,000 minus any scholarships and deposits), and
  • Living costs, in line with UKVI requirements

Important:

  • The funds must be held in an eligible account in your name (or your parent/guardian’s, where permitted)
  • Any delay in preparing your finances may result in visa delays or refusal, which could impact your ability to join your course on time

Important notes

  • Apply for your visa immediately after receiving your CAS.
  • These deadlines are critical for securing your visa and joining the course on time.
  • MBBS Clearing operates on a fast-track process, and delays cannot be accommodated.

Failure to meet deadlines may result in:

  • Delayed CAS issuance
  • Missing your visa window
  • Application Withdrawal – unfortunately we cannot defer applications to the next admissions cycle.
