Tackling Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery: Delivering Change

Explore the causes, systems, and global responses shaping the fight against human trafficking and modern slavery.

Beginning with an overview of the scale and forms of human trafficking and modern slavery and its drivers, this course introduces students to the international and national policy frameworks that can be used to tackle these phenomena. It will provide a more holistic response than the traditional criminal justice approach.

Discussion of the economics of human trafficking, the typologies of offenders, human rights abuses, support systems for victims, criminal justice responses, business practices, and modern slavery in supply chains ensures a multidisciplinary approach drawing on criminology, social policy, human rights, law, and business.
