The British Athletics International Match in Glasgow saw St Mary’s alumnus and Olympic finalist Andrew Osagie finish third behind Duane Solomon and Dai Green in the 600m event with a time of 1:16.45.
The competition was the first senior international event for current student Charlie Grice, who secured fifth place in the 1500m event in 3:45.05, whilst Andy Vernon took fourth place in the 3000m competition, finishing in 8:00.80.
Meanwhile, the Northern Cross Country Championships, which took place in Pontefract, saw undergraduate student Toby Loveridge finish third in the Junior race, whilst Danny Davis came ninth in the Senior event.
St Mary’s has run an endurance programme since 2001, with London Marathon as the principle sponsor. EPACC was then formed in 2009 by Sport’s St Mary’s, again in partnership with the London Marathon, as an England Athletics Coach Development Centre. It provides a world-class endurance environment and several of Great Britain’s most talented distance runners work out of the centre, including Steph Twell, Andrew Osagie, Ross Murray, Charlotte Purdue, Andy Baddeley and Scott Overall.
