It was a triumphant weekend for St Mary’s University College, Twickenham after athletes won a plethora of events at the England Athletics U23 and U20 Championships, which took place at Bedford International Stadium.
Highlights included St Mary’s student Zane Duquemin, who came first in the U23 shotput and discuss events, setting a new championship record in shotput after throwing a distance of 18.88m.
Beth Potter and Lily Partridge from St Mary’s Endurance Performance and Coaching Centre (EPACC) had a good race in the U23 women’s 5,000m event, finishing second and third respectively, whilst fellow EPACC runner Amy Griffith took second place in the U20 3000m women’s race.
