Students from St Mary’s University, Twickenham are some of the most employable in the UK according to latest figures, which has named the University as one of the UK’s top 25 for graduate employability.
Data from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) has ranked St Mary’s 21st out of 154 higher education institutions in the UK for graduate employment rates. According to the data, 95.3 per cent of those who graduated from the University in 2012/13 are in full-time employment or in further education within six months of graduating.
This compares to a national average of 92.2 per cent, meaning current and prospective St Mary’s students can be confident that they are developing key skills and experience needed in the workplace whilst they study.
The University’s Centre for Workplace Learning and Careers Service maintain close links with local and national businesses and all students have the opportunity to take part in work placements as part of their degree.
St Mary’s Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr Claire Taylor said, “We provide a range of learning, placement and work experience opportunities for our students. Our graduates are well placed to secure further study or employment and these latest rankings demonstrate the success we have in preparing our students for successful careers.”
