Athletes from the Endurance Performance and Coaching Centre (EPACC) at St Mary’s University, Twickenham saw success in three recent national competitions.
Five EPACC athletes competed at the English Athletics 10,000m Championships, held at the Parliament Hill athletics track, London, on the 16th May. In the women’s race, Jess Caulson finished in second place with a time of 32:41. Elsewhere in the men’s race, Ben Lindsay finished third and beat his personal best (PB) by over 1:30 with a time of 29:02, Sean Fontana also improved on his PB by almost a minute, finishing in 29:16. In the Men’s B Race, Jack Rowe finished 4th, qualifying for the European Junior Championships with a time of 30:23 and Karl Billington set a PB of 30:42.
The Trafford Grand Prix on the 16th May also saw a series of commanding results from EPACC Atheletes. Mo Farah Foundation Scholar Theo Blundell won the men’s 800m and set a new PB of 1:47.85. In the women’s 800m, Adelle Tracey took the Bronze medal with a time of 2:02.53. EPACC Assistant James Brewer also won the men’s B 1500m race with a time of 3:46.25.
EPACC athletes also competed at the Loughborough International on the 17th May, with Adam Clarke, running as a non scoring guest, finishing third with a PB of 8:08 in the men’s 3000m. Gus Cockle, representing Great Britain Juniors, finished 5th in the same race with a time of 8:10.
The Great Britain team at the European 10,000m Cup have also recently been announced with four EPACC Athletes, Jo Pavey, Jess Caulson, Ben Lindsay, and Lily Partridge, being selected.
