The Centre for Initiatives in Spirituality and Reconciliation (InSpiRe) at St Mary’s University, Twickenham is hosting a book launch on 11th May 2015. The event will celebrate the release of two books; The Trinity: How Not to Be a Heretic written by Programme Director for MA in Theology at St Mary’s Dr Stephen Bullivant, and Engaging with Living Religion: A Guide to Fieldwork in the Study of Religion by Senior Research Fellow at St Mary’s Lynne Scholefield and Senior Lecturer in Religious Studies at the University of Wolverhampton, Stephen E. Gregg. Lynne and Stephen’s book is a ground-breaking call for a new way of studying religion and lays out a clear and accessible way for undergraduates to engage with bottom-up, situated, and contested forms of religion and religious identity through the promotion of personal engagement with religion in everyday life. Stephen Bullivant’s The Trinity: How Not to Be a Heretic meanwhile aims to help Christians of all denominations to better understand the Trinity, so that they can help others understand it too. Stephen Bullivant said, “The Trinity: How Not to Be a Heretic is the fruit of five years of teaching the Trinity to our second-year undergraduates. It's an honour to be launching it here at St Mary's, alongside Lynne and Stephen's excellent new book.” The book launch is free and open to the public and will be held in the Waldegrave Drawing Room on the University’s Strawberry Hill Campus on 11th May 2015 at 5.30pm.
