Royal Society for Public Health Courses at St Mary's

Here at Health & Wellbeing Services, we’ve just delivered the last of our summer RSPH qualifications. We had lots of lovely participants attend, most of whom were looking to add something new to their CV or ease back into education. We also maintained our 100% pass rate! We’re delighted to be running another four courses this Winter, which are open to all. Level 2 courses are a great introduction to the topics, and ideal for those wanting to learn something new or to upskill themselves. These courses will run: Each of these one-day course costs £175. RSPH qualification Two of our recent participants commented on their motivation for choosing the courses, and how the course will help them move forward: ‘I have worked as a Stop Smoking Adviser in the Health Promotion field since 2001, and am currently on a career break. I wanted to improve, refresh and consolidate knowledge on associated topics that arise in discussions with clients. This is also a great way to add to my CPD, whilst enhancing my confidence and skills. I really like Health & Wellbeing Service enthusiasm and passion for their subjects, and found the lecturer very engaging. The content was just enough for me, and was very interesting (and even the end of course exams were bearable!)’ ‘Our charity has just set up a project called LiveWell BeWell for people with disabilities, which aims to help people manage their weight and learn about healthy eating. We wanted some professional input in order to support our staff in delivering the healthy eating side of our project. We chose St Mary’s University to study because it is local to our organisation (we are based in Hampton Wick) and also because it has a good reputation. I attended 2 courses which were both excellent. They were very well-delivered by Megan, covering a wide range of health related topics and sharing lots of useful resources. We have already used some of the things covered in the course, including working out calorie intake for individuals, how much exercise people should be doing and teaching people about portion size and what a healthy plate of food looks like. A really useful and meaningful experience and I would thoroughly recommend the courses.’     Health and Wellbeing Services is a hub of excellence and innovation in the field of community and workplace health.
