Health and Wellbeing Services is a hub of excellence and innovation in the field of community and workplace health. Our centre is established in the School of Sport, Health and Applied Science at St Mary’s University, Twickenham and has been since its formation in 2005.
Our staff are experts in behaviour change, nutrition, public health, smoking cessation physical activity and alcohol, who strive to create healthier businesses and communities.
We draw upon our academic background to act as a knowledge transfer unit, working with the private and public sector and policy makers. For over a decade we have designed, operated and managed pioneering health projects, by listening to our clients’ needs.
Our outcome focused approach to campaigns has resulted in unrivalled engagement with workplaces and communities, leading to measurable and sustainable improvements to the health of targeted demographic. Our clients have included businesses such as the Carphone Warehouse and NHS London as well as third sector organisations like Sport England and the British Heart Foundation.
What do we do?
We apply our expertise in health issues, to research, design, deliver and evaluate Health and Wellbeing Services solutions and training. We offer consultancy work which results in bespoke health and wellness solutions that use a sustainable, practical and cost effective approach.
We also offer a wide range of health qualifications. We coordinate health research projects and offer practice-based learning opportunities for St Mary’s undergraduate and postgraduate students. We are an RSPH registered Centre able to deliver several different courses.
We have also developed bespoke training packages for Community Health Champions and Workplace Health Champions.
