University-led degrees
Undergraduate
If you have not previously completed a degree you may choose to study our three-year Primary Education with QTS BA (Hons) .
Postgraduate
If you have previously completed an undergraduate degree, the best route for you may be our Primary PGCE programme. We also offer part-time and PE specialism routes as part of the PGCE programme.
School-led
If you currently work in a school as a teaching or learning support assistant (or many other school-based roles) you may be interested in one of our foundation degrees. These programmes are school-based with one day a week of teaching at the University.
Foundation degrees
Whilst these foundation degrees don't offer Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), you can top-up your degree with with our Primary Education (Work-based Route) with QTS BA (Hons) degree. This two-year programme also offers a pathway in which you can specialise in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
If you don't require QTS, but would still like to top-up your foundation degree to an undergraduate one, we also offer a Primary Education (Work-based Route) BA (Hons) one-year programme.
Assessment only QTS
If you are an experienced teacher with a degree you can achieve qualified teacher status (QTS) without further training through our assessment only QTS programme.
School Direct
School Direct is a school-led teacher training pathway that offers an alternative route into teaching. We work with a number of schools and alliances across London and the South East, who offer places for primary Initial Teacher Education (ITE) leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
