Athletes from the Endurance Performance and Coaching Centre (EPACC) saw a weekend of success at the recent British Athletics Championships.
The competition saw athletes and alumni of the University claim four places at Rio 2016, seven medals and a further four finals. Amongst the Rio bound athletes were Steph Twell, 5000m, Lennie Waite, 3000m steeplechase, Charlie Grice, 1500m, and Jade Lally, discus.
Amongst the other medal winners was Olympic hopeful Rob Mullett, who claimed the Gold Medal in the 3000m steeplechase. Elsewhere, Elliot Giles claimed the Gold in the 800m, qualifying Elliot for the European Championships, and Zane Duquemin took the Bronze, throwing 58.75m in the discus.
Four further athletes made finals, with Revee Walcott-Nolan finishing 4th and Sean Molloy finishing 5th in the 800m, Louise Small coming seventh in the 5000m and Ben Coldray taking seventh as well in the 3000m Steeplechase.
Centre Coordinator for EPACC Craig Winrow said, “There were some great results from the weekend which now sees 12 EPACC athletes competing for GB next week at the European Championships. ”
